Bob Brooks
Consulting Partner

In the late seventies, Bob completed courses on Real Estate Appraisal and Real Estate Law offered by UConn. For many years after this he prepared appraisals of horses and horse farms for insurance companies and banks. He currently is the owner of Storybook Realty, an investment firm that buys and sells land, farms, and real estate on an investment basis, and, along with his wife Patti, he still operates the 100-acre Hallelujah Hill breeding farm in East Lyme, CT.

Bob's entire life has been devoted to many facets of the horse industry. He operated Storybook Training Stables from 1959 to 1993 where he specialized in the training, showing, and marketing of show horses. He was an AHSA licensed judge from 1975 to 2001, and The American Horse Shows Association recently named Bob as Judge Emeritus. This is an honor bestowed upon very few judges from all divisions since the inception of AHSA. He was recently elected to his fifth term as President of the New England Morgan Horse Assn.

Bob & Patti Brooks are inducted into the American Morgan Horse Hall of Fame in 2003.

On the Connecticut scene, Bob served the state from 1974 to 1980 as Chairman of the Governor's Equine Advisory Council under both Republican and Democratic administrations. He is currently CEO of the Connecticut Equestrian Center Corporation and is deeply involved in the development of the 1000 stall competition facility at Keney Park. He served continuously from 1974 to 1984 as President and/or Chairman of the Board of the Connecticut Horse Council which serves the legal and legislative needs of Connecticut's horse organizations.

Bob's contacts in the horse industry are countless. He is a past President of the Connecticut Horse Shows Association. He was director of the American Morgan Horse Association for 20 years and chaired the Judging Standards Committee since 1979. He is frequently sought after to speak at marketing seminars and training sessions for horsemen throughout the USA and Canada.

Bob excels at negotiating difficult contracts and turning the negative into the positive. With all of his experience, you'll be glad he's on your side when it's time to carry a purchase offer to closing.

Patti Brooks
Horse's Country's Marketing Manager and Listing Department Manager

Patti Brooks first obtained her Connecticut Realtor's license 20 years ago and has been promoting Horse Country Real Estate ever since. Her advertising expertise, enhanced by her college level advertising courses, has played a major role in the marketing of horse properties for Horse Country Real Estate.

She studied Real Estate Appraisal at the University of Connecticut and this knowledge, plus several decades of being in the industry, has enabled her to formulaize educated comparable market analysis that lead toward the excellent sales record Horse Country Real Estate enjoys.

Patti has been a horse breeder for 35 years and with her husband, Bob Brooks, registered over 100 Morgan Horse foals. She enjoys horse showing on the regional and national level but her real love is competitive trail riding. Patti has several thousand miles of competition under her belt and was champion of several rides where she finished with a perfect score of 100.

Marketing and Promotion are Patti's life blood

While Patti served as a director of the Connecticut Morgan Horse Association she was responsible for the news gathering, writing, layout, printing, and mailing of their monthly newsletter to their over 300 members. Patti also promoted and ran the association's popular "Open Barn Tours" that drew thousands of visitors to Connecticut's Morgan Horse Farms.

From 1982 to 1999 she was a director and served two terms as president of the New England Morgan Horse Association. During that time, she wrote and marketed seven volumes of their popular picture tour guide to New England's Morgan Farms. Patti also developed the concept and staged the unprecedented "Grand Olde Champion" presentation at the New England Regional Show.

There's a good chance Patti is the only person you know who, while mounted on her horse, jumped out of a birthday cake!

In 2003, both Patti and Bob were inducted into the American Morgan Horse Association's Hall of Fame.

Patti is also a published author with hundreds of articles in equine publications as well as magazines like "Good Housekeeping". Learn all about her latest novel here.

Her soon to be published novel, "Fame & Deceit" is a contemporary novel set in the Connecticut horse world.

When you're thinking it's time to sell your farm, think of Patti and she'll work hard for you to make it happen. Not only will her years of experience help determine a marketing price that will attract buyers, she'll take professional pictures, write advertising and create virtual tours. Call her on her direct line:  860-442-4237 or email her at Patti@HorseCountryRealEstate.net
